Well 2024 was a very disappointing triathlon season. I had big hopes and dreams coming off a decent 2023 and winter training block. I had engaged with a swim coach and my swim was starting to get where I wanted it to be. All was looking good, but had a long string of illness and injury which led to some very disappointing results.
I seemed to have come down with COVID-19 a week before Ironman Canada. I still went ahead with the race, but ended up walking 40km of the run. 3 months later and I still haven’t recovered – even struggling to get through a 5km run. Just have to take it easy and hope time fixes it up!
I was fortunate enough to represent Canada at the Sprint Age Group would championships in Malaga, Spain. Result was disappointing given above, but it was still a great experience.
